Muscle pain & tightness
Including muscle spasms and trigger points.

When injury, chronic pain, inflammation, or restricted movement keeps you from doing what you enjoy, your care may need a different approach. We use Zimmer HEIT and Class IV laser as part of individual treatment plans designed to support recovery, reduce discomfort, and help you return to activity.
Zimmer High Energy Induction Therapy
High Energy Induction Therapy (HEIT) uses a high-intensity electromagnetic field to deliver energy into the body and influence tissues beneath the surface. The practice uses it to support circulation, muscle relaxation, pain reduction, and recovery, particularly when muscles are tight, painful, or not functioning normally. Pain can change how you move. You may guard a painful area, tighten muscles, restrict movement, or compensate without realizing it. HEIT may be incorporated into a broader treatment program to help address these changes and support more comfortable movement. The treatment stimulates deep neuromuscular structures without surface electrodes. Your doctor selects the settings and adjusts the intensity for your condition and comfort.
When HEIT may be considered
Your evaluation helps determine whether HEIT belongs in your plan. It may be used for:
Including muscle spasms and trigger points.
Selected painful musculoskeletal conditions.
Concerns that affect comfortable movement and activity.
Support within an individual recovery and rehabilitation plan.
The practice may consider HEIT for peripheral neuropathy, nerve dysfunction, or chronic nerve-related pain.
Including muscle inhibition and selected balance or gait difficulties.
Class IV laser therapy
Class IV laser delivers concentrated light energy into targeted tissues. This approach, called photobiomodulation, uses specific wavelengths of infrared light to support the body’s natural healing processes, local circulation, comfort, and tissue recovery. Your doctor may incorporate it into care for the concerns below.
Selected spinal and surrounding soft-tissue concerns.
Care directed toward the tissues identified in your evaluation.
Support for comfort and everyday movement.
Including muscle strains and activity-related injuries.
Including inflammation that may be addressed as part of a broader plan.
Symptoms such as burning, tingling, or numbness require evaluation to determine appropriate care.
What to expect
Your doctor explains the treatment and selects the settings for your individual needs.
The pad is placed over the treatment area and the intensity is increased gradually. You may feel tingling, similar to a TENS or electrical stimulation unit, followed by rhythmic muscle contractions. The intensity is adjusted to remain comfortable.
When combined with another treatment, 5–10 minutes is typical. Standalone sessions may last 15–20 minutes.
Patients typically notice gradual warmth on the skin, often described as warm sunshine. The therapy uses light energy; the warmth itself is not the intended mechanism of tissue repair.
Smaller areas such as elbows, wrists, or feet typically take 3–5 minutes. Larger areas such as the spine, shoulders, hips, or knees typically take 6–8 minutes.
Why combine technologies?
Sometimes one approach is enough. Other times, a more comprehensive plan is appropriate. HEIT and Class IV laser can be used on their own or alongside chiropractic adjustments, focused shockwave, spinal decompression, and other therapies. Each works differently, giving us options to tailor care to your condition. If you have already rested, changed activities, tried exercises, medication, massage, adjustments, or other treatments and are still limited, an evaluation helps us understand what to consider next.
Your recovery is personal
There is no single treatment for every person or every condition. Your story and goals guide the recommendations.
We discuss your history, where you hurt, and the approaches you have already tried.
We look at the activities that are uncomfortable, restricted, or becoming harder to do.
Returning to running, sleeping comfortably, getting through a workday, playing with grandchildren, and moving around the house are different goals. Your care should reflect yours.
Your evaluation helps us decide which treatment or combination may be appropriate, then explain the options to you.
Get back to doing more
Pain can gradually narrow your routine. You stop doing what hurts, then avoid what might hurt, and eventually say no to activities you once enjoyed without thinking. Our goal is to help you recover so you can move, work, exercise, sleep, and participate in life with fewer limitations. The technology is a tool; your needs and the activities that matter to you remain the focus.
If pain or an injury is keeping you from doing what you want to do, start with a consultation and evaluation. We will listen, assess what is happening, and discuss care designed around your goals.
